Highlights
- Visit Magdala, the birth place of Mary Magdalene, once a upon a time a fishing village, where you can still see ruins of a Second Temple period synagogue.
- Cross the Galilee countryside to Kibbutz Ginosar, and the famous "Jesus Boat", a boat brought to light by a drought in the Sea of Galilee which dates back to Jesus time.
- Walk on the shores of the Sea of Galilee and admire the Mount of Beatitudes, where Jesus gave his famous Sermon on the Mount.
- Visit the Wedding Church of Cana, where Jesus performed his first miracle turning water into wine, now a Franciscan Chapel hosting a museum and Byzantine mosaics.
Overview
On our Christian Galilee tour, you’ll travel back in time to age of Jesus, as we visit some of the most important Christian sites in the Galilee region of Northern Israel. Led by an experienced English speaking tour guide, we’ll head to some of the most iconic locations from the Old Testament. From the old fishing village where Mary Magdalene was born (Magdala), to a jar found in the Wedding Church of Cana, where Jesus performed his first miracle of the water turned into wine. Cross the spectacular countryside of the Galilee and walk on the shores of the famous Sea of Galilee. Our Christian Galilee tour is available once a week, in English, every Thursday.
